To Chop or Not To Chop

For the third time in just over a week I had found myself at a final table with a good stack of chips facing opponents that were crying for a deal. They wanted, what’s known in poker parlance, as a chop. Each time I was the only holdout to reject the deal and twice I was the next unlucky bloke out. That’s what happened at the Peppermill in their last poker series and it happened again at the Commerce in LA for the Los Angeles Poker Open. I only faired slightly better in the Venetian Deep Stack event, moving up one spot before imploding. Fall Poker Classic

The Fall Pot of Gold is over and by all accounts it was a big success. For myself, I won two events and made three other final tables. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to play the main event. I was Mr. Mom for the weekend and my sitter for Saturday cancelled at 11 am. Ouch. Oh well. After taking a few days to catch my breath, I was off to Vegas to play a few of the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza tourneys.
